Bengaluru is a high coconut consumption market and coconut waste comprises nearly
10% of the biodegradable waste of the city. However the bio degradation is extremely
slow but the energy value in coconut is extremely high making it a great energy
resource. Additionally the sugarcane waste is also significant and generated institutionally.
Both the waste renders themselves to segregated collection and disposal. However
they cannot be disposed through the known methods of Biogas and Composting.
2 units have been set up with a capacity of 20-40TPD each, where we convert the
'Organic Coconut Waste' into solid fuels called Briquettes/Pellets through a process
of densification. These solid fuels can be used to substitute Furnace Oil, LPG,
Light Diesel Oil (LDO) and other cooking fuel.
