Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri D.K. Shivakumar conducted a press meet on 11th June 2024, where he announced several key initiatives that the Climate Action Cell will be steering- towards implementation of BCAP and shaping a ‘BluGreenUru’.

All parks under BBMP will now be open from 5am to 10pm. This was announced by Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri D.K. Shivakumar, during the press meet conducted on 11th June 2024.

Bengaluru joined the Cities4Forest platform – A global alliance which will facilitate technical support and knowledge sharing with cities across the globe, on 5th June 2024. Bengaluru becomes the 4th city in India to be a C4F member. This was announced by Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri D.K. Shivakumar, during the press meet conducted on 11th June 2024 .

Climate Action Cell, in association with WRI India, organized an interactive session on 5th June 2024 - World Environment Day at IPP, Malleshwaram. The convening brought together RWAs, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and different government departments to discuss modalities of participation and collaboration with the cell in implementing BCAP

Cities and BBMP's Climate Action Cell #BCAPCell! 25 officials brainstormed on Zero Emission Area which aims to improve air quality, reduce congestion, and GHG emissions. They co-created a zero emission area vision for the city. Meeting Held on 21st May 2024.

Ms Preeti Gehlot, IAS, Special Commissioner, BBMP addressed the Fifth Systemic Innovation Workshop of the UN CC Global Innovation Hub held in Bengaluru on 21st May 2024. She spoke about city's vision towards net zero emissions and climate resilience.

Climate Action Cell had a collaborative discussion on ‘Recharge structures and tapping shallow aquifer through filter borewells’ with representatives from BWSSB, Biome, Central Ground Water Board, Directorate of Ground Water and others on 18th May 2024.
